A year of functioning lobbying regulation in the Czech Republic? How do we stand compared to Brussels?

The Public Affairs Association (APA), together with EPACA (The European Public Affairs Consultancies’ Association), organized a round table at the Chamber of Deputies titled “Public Affairs in the Central and Eastern European Region and Brussels: Transparency Standards and Differing Approaches in Europe.”

What did the discussion among leading experts, business representatives, and public administration officials reveal? EPACA President Matti Van Hecke emphasized that transparency, professionalization, and mutual trust bring about the most valuable asset—legitimate access and trust between representatives of the public and private sectors.

Representing the APA, its chairman, Václav Nekvapil, and Daniel Krus spoke, pointing out the advantages and shortcomings of Czech regulation in comparison with European practice.
